It stuns me -- again and again -- what a beautiful build this is. (It really shouldn't, by this time. )

Awaiting the next jaw-dropping installment.

35 – Stern Deck

Thanks John, Greg and Don.

Added to complete the stern deck: Ventilators, Hatches, Skylights, Davits, Rigging and Boats.
There was a perfect image from Navsource to show the canoes hung from the stern, so I added it to this lineup of photos. It shows Connecticut transiting the Suez Canal and must have been taken from high up in the forward mast.

Finally (last image) the crew has raised the flag over the stern. That brings this project to a close.

This ship required approx. 20 months from start to finish, but the motivating comments from modelers made it seem much shorter. Thank You.

Final images to follow.

Best Regards,
Mike

Here are the final photos of U.S.S. Connecticut. I hope you like them.
They will also be added to the member’s gallery.

Cheers!

A truly breathtaking accomplishment!
I hope it's destined for a nice glass case somewhere special.

Well done on this magnificent model, Mike.

I have very much enjoyed every minute of this modeling adventure, looking over your shoulder, and I have spent a long time looking at these images.

I'm sorry that the journey is ended, but I will enjoy rereading this thread and pouring over the images.

I am also looking forward to your next project.

Don
