Here's the first part of the hull internal structures.

Finally, hull internal structures are completed in 100%.
I can't believe it but building a USS Maryland BB-46 from scratch has turned out to be much easier than building Dodge WC6 from scratch! When I had started this project I thought: "I'll probably stop at the decks..." but once again my method "build and don't think too much" works. Anyway, I hope this hull is starting to look like a BB-46. Also I have a one question, maybe someone knows the answer. Were the decks on USS Maryland painted in some kind of camouflage or color in 1944? Judging by the photos from the era I'd say they remained in their natural wood color but I'm not sure.

I hope you are able to resolve the deck color issue, Kaspar.
I have never seen an authentic color overhead photograph of Maryland. Paintings, colorized photographs, and models vary - some show natural wood decks, some show light gray. According to Larry Sowinski and Tom Walkowiak, United States Navy Camouflage of the WW2 Era (Philadelphia, PA: Floating Drydock, 1976), quoting U.S. Navy publications, all the 1944 and 1945 camouflage schemes called for all horizontal surfaces except for carrier flight decks to be Deck Blue (Color 20-B). I await the outcome with great interest. Don |

I've found one aerial picture of USS Maryland BB-46 and USS Iowa BB-61 but it's from 1945. Deck looks rather very bright on BB-46. The one on Iowa seems to be a little darker(http://navsource.org/archives/01/046/014661i.jpg)
Also here's a good link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_...3:_battleships According to the informations from wikipedia, deck color on Colorado-class battleships should be Ocean Gray 5-O. I have no idea which one would be the most accurate option... From the aesthetic point of view I'd go with natural wood. Anyway, here's the WIP update. Hull is basically finished, I just have to add some tiny details.

Remember that decks tend to get worn. so it wouldn't be unheard of for the natural wood to show through, especially when the decks were still holystoned regularly.

Today's update. I attached some details to the hull. Anchors will be done tomorrow.

I did the anchors. They're incredibly small in 1/1000.
Also I've ordered few Tamiya paints for the camouflage. They should arrive this Wednesday. I want to paint the hull and the decks before I start superstructures, armament and other details.

Thanks Sergio.
In EU I think... Anyway, my delivery has just arrived. Much quicker than I expected! Still I don't know which option is better for the decks(natural wood or blue), so I've bought XF-18 Medium Blue, just in case.
