Lsm 156
Not exactly a sex bomb but there seem to be more pics of these ships than any other on the net. Ecept the one I cannot find again of a beached LSM taken from the rear on a Normandy beach.
I wanted a couple of simple projects which I could quicky get going on as the other 2 I am working on are a bit on the big side. Maybe this will make Don happy I am certainly hoping he has some friends with photographs. I think this class deserves another model, Before anyone asks I am not planning on drop down ramps and bow doors. |

Excellent Barry. Good to see that you've made such quick progress.
I sent you a bunch of photos today, including some camo schemes that they were painted. Personally, this will be a very exciting project. Thanks Barry!

It is nice to see you taking on another under appreciated subject Barry. I guess anyone wishing to, could add ramp and door options, assuming you release this one of course.
I think Don will comment on its fombyness. |

I always wanted to do an LSM model - if I can help - please feel free to ask. I understand about the bow doors - that has put me off as well. However, I thought that a later version LSM - with the 40mm tub over the bow - might help in that respect.

Definitely fomby. Definitely makes me happy. Guaranteed sale if you make this one available.
I'll be on the qui vive for additional material, but I don't think I can provide anything to top eib's offerings, although I do have the Friedman and Baker book on amphibs at home and it may have additional drawings. Will see. Meanwhile, Barry, do check the Floating Drydock offerings, e.g. GQ (scroll down to MINE & LANDING CRAFT) NAVY MODEL PLANS I expect Padre to weigh in on this with lots of info as a member of the USS LSM/LSMR Association (the home page of which I can't seem to find just now). Seeing your designing and eib's photos I'm getting interested in a LSM very much.
