Found a solution, with "Open image in new tab" with the right mouse button in Safari to open the higher resolution photographs !!

Good afternoon to all paper modelers..

In last days I have built one of the most complicated ship superstructures I ever seen before...

At the center of the main bridge of the Admiral Nakhimov, all the upper bridge is completely sustained by a lot of pillars and beams, and this structure will sustain also the stream launches and the ship's boats.

Suspended to the bridge ceiling there are also some buckets (probably to be use for cleaning or fire extinguish... honestly I don't know their use)

So, in the next pics you can see the bridge with the network of beams installed below and, on the main deck, in other pics, are shown the pillars that have the task to sustain the lateral sides and the center part of the upper (or flying) deck.

Next step will be to mount all together and have a look of the model with the upper deck installed..

Have a nice time and happy modeling !!
stay safe

JP

Hello JP,
You warned us that superstructure would be a challenge.
Fine work, straight and neat.
All those support posts will look great beneath the frame.

Wow that is a spider web of complex detailed structures. Tedious work. The suspended buckets are a great touch, honestly probably won't be visible once the model is finished without getting in real close. This is such a clean build.

Hello to all paper modelers !!

I last days I have found a bit more spare time from job that I've used to make some progress on Admiral Nakhimov model.

So, I have glued the flying bridge, built and positioned the fore and rear guns' towers (I made them both rotating), and started to build the upper structures components that are positioned over the flying bridge (like the wheel house, the chart house, the upper conning tower and the two posts for binnacles and compasses)

I have also build the after mast, but is not yet completed (are missing the shielded machine guns and the searchlights) and I positioned this mast on the model just to have a preview of the general effect...

By the way... the pics that are following are not up-to-date, because in very last days I have added some other particulars like railings and some secondary guns on the flying bridge... but I have not yet took pics of the very actual status of the model.

Anyway... here some pics of the model.
Please, take into count that the inclination of the "wings" of the flying bridge are too much downward... usually in real ship the inclination was more lighter... from 3 to 5 degrees. In the future pics you'll see that I have corrected this mistake.

Have a nice paper-modeling and .. stay safe !!
ciao
Jp

Hello and good afternoon to all paper modelers !!

Here following are some new pics of the Admiral Nakhimov model, where I have added all the upper bridge railings, most of the secondary quick-firing guns and some other components of the superstructures. have also modified the upper deck wings inclination making them more "flat" than before.. it was not so simple to do but I'm quite satisfied for the new look.

Now, to complete all the upper bridge, I have to add some stairs, binnacles, compasses and searchlights.

After this I'll start to complete the military masts and I'll continue with the railings on the main bridge and start with boats and steam launches to position on their own posts (with all the cranes installed)

Here the pics

Have a nice paper modeling time and stay safe !!!

ciao
Jp

Thanks, Mike

Your appreciation words are really welcome and I'm happy that you like this building.

Indeed, the "old style" gun turrets, the "old stile" quick-firing guns and other old ship weapons, are in my opinion, some of the most intriguing characteristics for a warship. Perhaps those are some of the reasons because I love so much the military navies before the end of 19th century..

Have a nice time and stay safe !!
ciao
