During construction:

After initial painting:

After glueing on to the deck:

Thank you both.

Yes, I'm rarely online in the summer. I prefer spending time outdoors. I do not even do any modelling now.

Very nice work. 1:200 is a good intermediate scale.

Hi, The Yukikaze model is complete. A few words in summary:

- the model was based on the model of the destroyer Yukikaze from the Kartonowy Arsenal publishing house in 2003, photos of the model in a scale of 1:200 from the Yamato museum in Kure near Hiroshima and several archival photos,

- the unpainted and incomplete hull of the model was a legacy of the model workshop closed 15 years ago,

- I started the first work on the model in 2011 and then I put it aside for 9 years. In 2020, after completing Kamikawa Maru, I decided to finish it,

- because I did not want to work on it for too long, I used everything that is currently available on the market to speed up the work (engraved deck, metal barrels and torpedoes, resin parts, photo-etched parts, laser-cut parts).

- model painted with Humbrol 100 paint (the bottom of the ship) Pactra A37 for sides and A64 for the deck.

- covers on the main cannons and the tarpaulin on the superstructure made of one layer of a tissue soaked in BCG glue and antiqued with tea.

- rust marks made with chip-dried and ground to powder Humbrol 100 paint applied with a brush.

You can see many imperfections in the macro, but because I can't see it with the naked eye, it doesn't bother me.

Please visit the gallery.

Cheers, Jakub

Superb, a fantastic hull and I have enjoyed watchin your progress. The ship herself would have mamny dings etc so I am pretty sure anything that could be called errors would have been seen in any photo.
Wow.
