10 – Guns and Superstructure
Hello Crafters,
I have a few more images to show where work with this project stands. This ship gets its first guns, those being 152mm (Six Inch) single turrets on each side of the forward superstructure. I added the armored conning tower (paper and card) and the charthouse (paper). Kind Regards, Mike |

Hi Michael...
I'm sure you've been asked this before but where do you keep your finished models? They must take up a lot of room. Do you have a display room in your house or are they stored away? Thanks again for sharing the results of your skill with us. All my best. P-lite |

Impressive hull. The plating is extremely authentic. Engineering these back in the day must have been fun. Itertative steps and basic hand calculations. As a transitional engineer, pre computer till now and still active I appreciate the ingenuity of the old school naval architects.

Hello Panzerlite: Thanks for asking . . . this gives me a chance to take a picture. Here is one of the areas (dining room) where my finished models are piling up. The others decorate areas in my living room. As you can see, they provide plenty of company. There is one unfinished in this photo . . . it is Neptune in the center lower left. Warm Regards, Mike |

Thanks PaperFan. Glad you like the hull. As an experiment, it has turned out reasonably well. Creating it was similar to laying floor tile. Many of the individual plates needed to be custom trimmed and fit. I like what you said about basic hand calculations. Oddly enough, I am finding great satisfaction in doing things the hard way. . . . all hand made if possible. Best Regards, Mike |

11 – Funnel and Wing Turrets
Thanks Glen, Panzerlite, PaperFan, Shipbuild and Mike.
Its great having you all aboard for this expedition. I think I captured a few nice photos to bring this project up to date. Ulfberht has a single large funnel, as seen in the first three photos. After experimenting with two variations, I settled on this type. It is made of a combination of card and paper. Than I moved on to the 305mm (12-inch) wing turrets. The gun barrels are rolled from paper. The turrets are made of card and paper. Unusual project . . . but a lot of fun. Kind Regards, Mike |
