1/144 Hr.Ms. Van Galen
Something different this time, a ship, and more specifically, a Dutch Admiralen-class destroyer Hr.Ms. Van Galen.
It's a Modelik kit, resized from 1/200 to 1/144, as it's easier for me to work on the scale like this, plus, I can add/make some extra details. So far, the work goes pretty good, without any bigger issues. But what might be my first advice for anyone who plans to build this model, is to reinforce the internal structures/framework with additional pieces of cardboard or paper.

I'm continuing my work on Van Galen. Everything goes well, without any problems. Thanks to the resizing, the model is not only more impressive, but just like I said before, much easier to build. I don't have to struggle with incredibly tiny parts.
In a few photos you may notice that the glue is still fresh and visible. Now it's transparent. As some of you probably know, the seaplane Fokker C.VII-W from this ship was built by my grandson, Kacper(PacificWind). Here I'm posting only five photos of the aircraft but if you want to see more, visit this link: 1/144 Fokker C.VII-W

I'm working on the superstructures, adding more and more parts to them.
I always build ships in 4 stages: Stand, Hull, Superstructures, Remaining small details(although sometimes you have to do these during the "Superstructures" stage, as later it may be impossible to attach them in their place).

Thanks, Don.
Below I've got another photo report. The ship will be finished quite soon. There's not much work left.

Today I'm posting the last photo report before the final.
It shows how do I make the handrails for ships. Even though you can buy the ready-made ones, I prefer to make them from scratch. This gives you much more satisfaction. When you're making your own handrails, the way I do them, remember to stiffen them with some kind of glue or other substance.
