That didn't occur to me, Google translate doesn't seem to work as well on twitter. I have seen hints elsewhere, but, who knows?

Sorry Lou, I didn't mean to hijack your thread either. I'm a bit jealous of your original copies of the ONI documents though, all I was ever able to get were the few reprints. I appreciate your scans and model releases. Butler was my first downloaded ship model.

Kirishima building - that 2-column conning tower!

For your own personal use you can make additional copies, of course, w&p.
Cardstock paper 1:1200 Kirishima test-build in progress.
The complex (and *tiny* at 1:1200!) 2-part/2-column conning tower went perfectly. I had to hold the linking part with tweezers to prevent it tearing at either end, on occasion, but it held. It will look like an even higher pagoda, when the range finders - one of them taller to look over the other - are mounted.
From the Hiei prototype, I learned to glue the boat deck (upon which the conning tower will be glued) onto the foredeck before gluing it to the rest of the hull/ship - to keep both absolutely level.
