Heiner, thank you for your interest, IF you are looking for a highly detailed model then this may not be the model for you as it has PURPOSELY been kept as simple as absolutely possible as the appeal is NOT to experienced card modelers but rather, spontaneous buying by individuals visiting a number of local museums.

Let me see if I can answer your question.

The Oregon Historical Society may reproduce the plans for you, There are eight sheets in total, reproduced full scale by photo reproduction, this is not cheap, quick or easy the file call number is: "Mss4051"

Go here-> Research and Library and search the catalog for, "steamship plans" to find the file then submit an order for photo reproduction.

While it was common to have openings in the stern of the wheel housing and it was also common not to have them, the Bailey Gatzert for example had them but I found no reference to these openings on the R.R. Thompson, to include them would have been supposition on my part and I really don't care to speculate in absence of fact so it was omitted on this particular model.

The R.R. Thompson was built at Celilo near the Dalles Oregon and later served and was ported out of Portland Oregon.

Hope you find this information helpful, thanks for inquiring.

Fred, this drawing is absolutly marvellous - once again, Thank You very much!
I appreciate Your low-detail-approach, that fits this ship very well. As a matter of fact, with the wheelcover closed, there is not that much to add - maybe some steps down from the crew quarters to the roof, the rigg a bit more detailed, a pair of rudders aft. Instead, I prepared some lasercuts for the railings and the pilot house roof trim, so the number od parts will not improve much.
When the day comes, I will show You.

Your best bet Heiner would be to get the actual plans and start from scratch...
