This worked out all right and the deck fit reasonably well after. I'm gonna end up repainting this entire model because of all the white pieces i'm adding to make up for short falls.

So the basic hull is there however I think i'll ponder over plating the hull above the waterline now.

Looks like I shouldn't have used those two remaining secondary guns in the aft location. Though the ship is supposed to have some there, it would appear that in this model these remaining two are supposed to be mounted amidships on an upper deck. That would explain why there wasn't any cut-out aft.
Ah well, even if I had spotted this sooner, I still would have put them there. I'll just make two more for that upper location. |

Moving onto the anchor hawse pipes, I need to close them out. I couldn't make these as one piece, the shape was just to complex so I laid in some card to close out the majority of the opening.

I then trimmed these flush to the deck and inserted a straw to carry the close out from there through to the hull. I CA glued the straw in place and then trimmed it to the external hull and some minor trimming within the hawse pipe itself.

Painted the hawse pipes and added the outer trim to the deck. I had to make these trims larger than what was printed to cover my work in opening up the holes.

I have decided that I am not going to over plate the hull above the waterline. I am going to however drill out the window ports as these do not share the same level between the parts provided. Since I am going to paint over everything, this will be fine.

The hull is now all painted. I drew in the hull plating above the waterline.
