I join michael with this french armored cruiser. you can find more on this topic on wikipedia.
I have a laser cut frame. I started assembling the frame.

There are quite a few excellent French cruisers from this era worthy of construction.
This is one of the most unique. Not an easy project. Those are excellent vintage photos, particularly the second one showing the forward guns. Mike

I wonder why Modelik issued the model of this vessel, which is unique, highly considered as the ideal cruiser when it was planned (to such a point that it was intended to add 176 more!), in a refit version, as she appeared after the aft mast was removed: and by that time, no one more had been added to the French fleet, as the "Jeune École", whose leader was the Admiral Aube, faded out. By 1914, France had spent nearly as much money as Germany, all this ended up in a real waste, leaving the British Navy facing alone the Germans in the North Sea.

Yes mike there are many topics from this era I also have Jeanne d'Arc from Wak 1: 200
Renaud the author of this model is Michal Glock who seems to prefer the post-modernization variant see Hoche or Uss San Francisco I continued with frame...

Before moving on to the frame assembly, Dupuy had a small yard in the middle that had to be installed ...
I finished mounting the part above the waterline ...

I agree that it is a pity that Modelik chose to this very interesting vessel in its 1905 version and coloured overall grey. It is possible to use the Modelik kit to get much closer to the ship as it was originally built, as there is good photographic evidence available, but it requires a bit of "kit-bashing". The foremast can be copied in order to create the original mainmast, and a second funnel has to be fabricated. I reduced the scale to 1:250 at the same time- Here's a photo of the result, and one of the old photos it was based on.
PS - The otherwise excellent WAK kit for Jeanne d'Arc has some frame cross sections missing. However they can be fabricated from the original plans available from a link on the 'Dreadnought project' website

Roncar yes it would be an idea but unfortunately I don't have a drawing program or Michael's design skills so we'll see how it turns out as it is ... finished frame assembly ...
