SD14 Full Build-1/70-Marcle-kevin 547n - Jan2022

good evening everyone

i think this is my first post, even though i joined many years ago

i am about to do the full SD14 kit and wondered if anyone would be interested to follow me along, i have ordered it today and hope to start as soon as it arrives
i already have a semi completed bow and midships section, they have been is storage for years
at the start of this year i began the stern part, as a 90 day group build, and was doing very well, even added part of the midships section as it was going to be in a diorama setting, but disaster this afternoon when i fell on it and destroyed it

Hello Kevin -

I am always glad to see an SD14 build. It is a formidable project and a great way to learn a lot about how these ships were constructed.

Condolences on the recent mishap and good wishes for a successful and enjoyable build.

Don

thank you Don, i was upset about it, but contacted Marcle Models and purchased the full kit, intentions are to build all three sections on the base board at the same time, one side complete, and open the other, with lighting and compartments on the tween decks

Hello from Holland.
I have been following the (partly) build of several SD14 ships. Especially the one of Marco.
I bought the kit myself quiet some years ago. Started building the front part at the end of 2020. Is halve way. Started the bottom of the midsection last year and took a break to build some other models ( Zvezda, 1/350, Arktika-Russian Icebreaker).
I am very much interested to follow this one as well. Especially interested in colouring the model.
Regards, Gert Vlaanderen - Ede, The Netherlands

hi Kevin,
Unusual to see two SD14's going on at once.

We can learn from each others mistakes!
I worry about painting it. Marco made it look so easy, but I think it isn't.
Anyway good luck with it and don't forget it is supposed to be fun.
cheers Jim

Good morning @jimbean i hope to follow the example of Marco's build, and rather than use modge podge as a pre-paint primer everywhere, i will use it on area's to be painted on, however i will do a few test strips first to ensure thats possible
