Schreiber's U-Boot U9
Hi all,
Trying to muster up some courage, and skill to get back at the Liberator. I decided that I work on something similar to an aircraft fuselage. So,flipping through some of my kits, I came across this kit, all of two pages, and 18 inches of Sub goodness. I settled on the U9, it is a 1:100 scale kit, a German Navy submarine, which entered service in 1966, and was retired and placed on display at the Technik Museum Speyer. So far no photographic evidence has been taken, but all of the pieces that need to be laminated to cardboard, has been accomplished. If there is any interest in getting one of the kits for yourself, this link will help you with searching for said Sub. Schreiber-Bogen****Kartonmodellbau I hope You will enjoy watching it being built as much as I will enjoy building it Rick

Knives have been used.......
Cutting, shaping, and glueing has commenced. After I was finished with the Marine figure, I started on the sub, a couple of days ago, I laminated the formers and those pieces that needed to be laminated to the sheet of cardstock that came with the kit. I have cut out so far the hull formers, of which there are only 3, there are some formers that go into the tail, but that is for another post. Nothing really to photograph, so until the hull or other subassemblies go together, I will keep cutting and edge coloring I did find that the Medium Charcoal pencil I have is the same color as the hull, so I will be using that for edging of the model. Rick

As they say, it didn't happen if there are no pictures, so I finally put up a picture. the 3 round formers with joining strips are for the hull pieces, and the big gray tube in the background is the main section of the hull, I am actually pleased as punch, because the panel lines actually line up. and there are miniscule gaps on the seam. In the box to the right I have all the parts and formers laying in logical groupings, and on the lid, there are the nose, tail, and secondary hull parts. More to come as they say. Rick
