Your second Fletcher hull looks good, Carl.
Looks like those weights would have lots of value in the process of building paper models, Wayne. Don |

Hey Gil ! Hi Michael!
...and Wayne, I've even tried that on one of the ships back in the mists of my creations. It didn't work for me but I am very glad if it works for you. The thing I want to try but never get around to is, to put in a bowed piece of piano wire, low in the middle and high at the ends, to put opposing force to the bowing. And yes, I'm working. I've just been wasting time on redo of the hull and printing parts for something else. ...and I might point out that this ship had an aft to fore bend (actually bent up a little bit at the rear also) and CAMBER on nearly every deck. I'll leave the camber to Michael when he decides to redo my models (j/k). Decks are flat in this model. That curving deck is a decided pain in the rear but cussing helps me to deal with it. |

New hull has advanced with sides. Still not pleased with it. A new deck and bow might help. This is a testbed after all.
I built up the structures by making them with cardstock and shaper first. This version is a tiny bit smaller than the final. Then the card pieces are wrapped with the color on bright white for better and brighter appearance. This all is the aft structure with the cut down center structure that mounted a twin 40 mm gun and the 40 mm gun director. Some 5 in guns in shields will clutter things up nicely as I move along. |

Looking good! It's fun to watch the elements of the superstructure taking shape.

It's nice seeing your shipyard busy again.
Are you still using Rhino software? Mike |

Yes, Mike, I am still a Rhino user. I've peaked at Rhino 5.0 however.
My mind is fuzzy... are you using any 3D software or still building everything from the plans on up? I've got some bitty little 5 inch gunshields on the assembly line... |

Using Sketchup, free version.
I've given some thought to getting the "Pro" version, but there is a subscription fee for it. The free version does everything I need, so no need to switch yet. |

Hey George!
The 5" gun shelters are under construction. There are a couple finished as well as the card stock frame of another. Note that they are each less than a quarter inch in length. |
