Exclamation Upper forwarddeck

The very top of the forward deck has this small area.

Notice that I added small strips of thicker card to support the walls and allign them with the white area. Those are not in this design, but I would strongly recommend adding them all around wherever there is a flat wall attached to a flat base.

Exclamation Hull- part 1

here is the forward half of the hull.

The bow has a seam in the center and is glued together to itself.

note: while this makes sense, I would like to see the bow in one piece with the seams on the flat sides toward the rear. But that is my suggestion to the builder to make it look smoother.

the rear half of the hull is very simple and just bend the tabs and bottom to form a rectangular shaped box.

Exclamation Hull bulheads

Here are the 5 bulkheads and center frame that fit into the hull front and back.

not shown, but the two hull sections are glued together.

frames are glued inside using CA super glue

Note.
I did not know it that there are 3 flat floors that would be built up on top ( sort of like a layer cake ). So the bulkheads are just placed into position . I numbered them. My numbering calls for #5 to be in front and then going back.

In hindsight, each one except #5 should have been cut into 3 sections each to allow for the flat floors to be glued. I realized this later and made modification to the first later and then cut the tops of bulkheads 1-4.

Those are excellent images of your RC boats.
My favorite: The tug towing the vintage pickup truck.

Regarding Carnival Pride: Not an easy project.

That is a model of my Father's 1950 F1 Ford pickup. It was his truck when he had a furniture shop many years ago in the 1960's. I was always in the back to make sure the furniture was secured tightly.

I have this truck and another one in plastic in 1/35 scale.

All fun

back to the build of the Pride.

Exclamation Forward deck

Here is the forward deck above the ships bow. I glued it on a cardstock and sanded at an angle to fit.
this deck usually holds some spare propellor blades.

The front slopped wall is added on now.

The hull and the bow turned out nicely, Isaac.

Some valuable tips for building all sorts of models in this thread. Might I offer one of my own - I often use double-sided tape rather than glue to attach formers to skin pieces (if I glue them at all). It helps avoid the 'starving horse' appearance where the glue makes the paper warp or bulge around the formers. In the case of the upper forward deck, adding some transverse formers to prevent any 'roof' glued on top (the golf course in this case) sinking in the middle is also worth considering.

Most of the formers are glued on using CA super glue. The flat pieces are backed inside with card stock to minimize warping and provide strength.

Since these type of ships are slab sided and flat, they do need inner structures.

As to the double sided tape, I have not used it on models, but am concerned that they will come apart in a few weeks or so if they are not super strength. I would be interested if you share a few photos of that method.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Exclamation Mid deck

I did not realize at this point that the 4 vertical frames should have been cut into 3 sections to allow for the flat floors to be placed on top. So I cut slits for the frames to go thru. In reality it made little difference since most of the floor is for structural purpose and do not show up.

my note written on the parts. However, only my frames 1-4 needed to be cut. The forward frame 5 is OK as one piece.
Carnival Pride-beta build 1-600 scale-img_7617.jpg

add the vertical walls to the deck. The glue tabs are integral and just bent over 90 degrees

aft side. There is a slight mismatch with the inner frame. That will be fixed later.

Overall status so far.
