The design
The designer of this and other ship models is known here as Marterair. His design thread is here :
Carnival cruise ships - PaperModelers.com This design is in the 1/600 range. Which for ships is small, but still manageable and does not take over your home. The Holiday is one of the earlier Carnival ships and was sold and repainted by CMV. I think by now it has been scrapped or close to it as bigger and better ships are making up the bulk of the cruise business. The designed parts come in PDF format. However, there are no instructions. Thus these useful screen shots of the design are shown here. Use those as well as other photos posted on the internet. Once the build commences, you can follow the parts location and shapes. here are the views so far. Isaac

Parts
The design comes on 5 pages with a cover photo of the ship
parts are numbered and all fit on an A4 sized paper. I printed the pages on 180 gsm card paper ( which I have a small supply ). It along with 210 gsm paper are suitable for this type of ship designs. Most of my buildings are aircraft, and that heavy stock in my opinion is not flexible enough for rounded shapes. A small side note. I re used some pages that already had a model plane printed on one side since this is a Beta build and I already built that plane. However, for a final design print on fresh paper since the back side of some parts are white and need to show ( like the bow deck ) here are some of the pages : Isaac

Stack
I started the build with the most visible part of the Carnival ships. The winged exhaust stack
parts assembly I added a small piece of wood inside the wings to support it better. Isaac

Forward hull
The forward half of the hull ( part 1 ) is a one piece arrangement that is joined in front at the bow mid section and also on the bottom tabs.
Notice that the inside of the paper has prints of my airplane print I am not using. Some of the exposed areas were laminated with regular white paper later on as needed. The yellow low tack Tamiya tape is used to hold the shape while the glue is drying. Isaac

Rear hull
The rear hull is again a one piece bent at 90 degrees to the bottom , but there are two slanted joints at the rear. There will be an addition of side fins there later on.
the two halves next to each other Isaac

Bow deck
The ship bow has a blue deck. However, there is no structure underneath to support it ( I brought it to the attention of the designer.
here is the bow before assembly. ( the inner side still shows the airplane parts I printed earlier. Ignore it. The exposed areas will be laminated with white pieces for this Beta build ). The blue deck must be laminated onto a card stock ( I used a cereal box card for this and all the inner structures I created ). Notice that I sanded the edges at an angle to bevel it so it fits inside the sloping walls. I added inner framing to both support the blue deck and also to properly place it. The design has no framing. Hopefully the final design will incorporate those in. Also again, here I laminated white paper onto the inner printed side ( again, I used an existing card other side for this beta project ). here is the forward wall and deck assembly all glued in place. You can also see the inner structure. Isaac
