Optimist class dinghy
Here my weekend doodle. Scratch built from carboard and paper with some wooden dovels. I painted it as I remember it being because this portrays my very own Optimist from late 60'.
I wished to have one and my dear aunt got me one. Boy was I happy. But there was a problem as there always is. My parents didn't allow me/us children to sail when it was windy. Big bummer. I got into sailing anyway with my friends boats and have sailed since whenever I get a chance. Anyways, this red beauty is my 'Rosebud' of the happy warm childhood summers. Her scale is 1/16. Tappi |

It’s a jewel! Perfect for a kid . . . or an adult.
We all need to have an aunt like yours. |

Beautiful model, Tappi!
And thanks for the info on the personal connection of this trim little craft to your personal history. Don |

Thanks Mike, building it brought back many memories. And aunts are the best.
Glad you like it Don. Personal connection gives a lot to both the modeler and also the viewer I believe. All the things you've done, places you visited, apparel you used - perfect excuses for modeling. Tappi |
