JSC 1/100 Simara Ace
Hello ladies and gentlemen, a couple of weeks ago I have started construction of my latest carboard model, the JSC Simara Ace.
While this is a very nice looking ship, it strikes me that I can hardly any completed buildthreads, which is not very motivating. Yet, I had the kit, the LC frames and LC details in my stash, so I began the journey... For size comparison, the frame is next to my recently finished Alexander Arbuthnot in the same scale !  Staircases are a nice feature on this model instead of the generic slopes :  One of the winches for the aft deck :    At the bow, I made my first mistake ; the tabs should have been UNDER the next tier, it isn't a bad mistake though.    Next step was to start applying the ship's skin, an intimitading part of the built if you're not used to it :     To be continued...

The Bow...
And here we are with the next update (remember, I started this build a couple of weeks ago, so I'm actually further into the build than what you see here).
Next on the agenda was the bow, now this was a very scare step in my opinion, lots of oportunities to go wrong, but I think I managed it ok. Have look...       To be continued...

Well, for anyone whom might accidentally stumble over this report, here are some more updates.
Installing the sides of the superstructure made an end to working with larger parts, up next were the seats and tables on the sundeck :     As well as railings :  And the emergency stuff :   To be continued...

Thank you Kasia and Don, sometimes I do get the impression that this ship isn't interesting enough for the majority of the members here (not enough things on it that go "boom").
I had some problems making the little boats, but thanks to Kasia from JSC who was so kind to mail me the file to print them myself, I got a second (and third) chance to make them.     To be continued...

Your images of boat-building are really helpful. And Kasia is an international treasure within the paper modeling community.
A ferry that looks like a yacht. It is an interesting vessel (although my own interests lie more in ships build between 1885 and 1950, I am enjoying the build and it IS a pretty ship). I think people have been busy with the holidays. And sometimes there is a lull in the number of people who comment. Please continue to post your images and your narrative. Don
