Lou Coatney’s HMS Cotswold, Hunt Type I

Dear All, this is the HMS Cotswold, Hunt Type I by Lou Coatney in 1/400. Very nice model. Easy to build yet accurate. I wanted one Hunt to be able to finish in relatively short time. This is it, I just added minor details like the boats, but failed to include a chaser 2-pounder gun in the bow. In the last picture it is escorting some MTB/PTs of my design. Happy modeling.

ps: Thank you Lou!

Thank you Tim and George. As you know Lou has a series of simple models that look very nice and with a lot of possibilities to add details. Some of his hunt may escort your Dido (it may fit in a ledger page to be enlarged to 160%) or battle your Shiratsuyu.

Pablo's beautiful Cotswold

WOW, Pablo! You certainly do beautiful work.
And love her escorting the MTBs.
May I post your photos on my webpage?

I've done the Hunt 2s - RNoMS Arendal is there on my page - and have wanted to do the 3s ... which have TORPEDOES.
Thank you for rewarding my work with your beautiful work.

Dear Lou, please feel free to post the pictures.
And thank you, it was a very rewarding model to build.
A one pager, but accurate, and plenty of room for additions!

Pablo, for your coastal actions many Type 1s had anti-S-boot 40mm bow chasers on the very tip of their prows. That upside down teardrop on the plan is what that is about - the gun deck - although you'll have to craft your own 40mm ... and the deck should be absolutely horizontal.
Free Cardstock Paper Model World War 2/II Warships

I assume it was a rapid-firing Bofors, not the 2-pdr 40mm anti-tank gun on the early war British tanks (from the A10s to the Valentines).

Again, GREAT job, and tusen takk for your skill!

Thank you Lou.
I think they also used the automatic, not the hand loading, QF 2-pounder, 40mm, naval gun as well.
