Thanks, friends

You´re right Mike. And it looks to be a very long journey

The railing on the forecastle is placed, there´s necessary to make some decorations to finish ( as on the whole ship )
Sometimes I don´t know what to do sooner.
I made some stairs and the missing part of the railing on the aft.

Here´s the result.

Nice work Jan.
I find myself looking at the 5th image, and imagining it with all the decoration to come.

Thank you friends.
Michael Mash: Be patient, Mike, you will see

I´m still continuing with railing, the last one on the aft is placed and entries are finished too.
Now I have a little dilemma: stairs on the poop deck - see the last pictures. On the Payne engraving and the Culver model they are going over the railing.
Van Velde made His work in the style of rennaissance ( and it is not evident if he ever seen the ship as displayed, aroun 1660, he arrived to England probably 10 years later when the ship looks differently and made his work based on Payne´s engraving ).
And a lot of models contain a kind of hybrid ( probably based on the author's taste ).
At least the decoration is clear

Incredible amount of decoration shown in those vintage photos.
Nice to read your research about the position of the stairs.

Respect Jan, historic ship model building is a hobby on itself, very different from the "normal" model ship building, I have no talent for it !! Looking forward to see the end result.

Thank you all, friends for your comments

Michael Mash: maybe it is irrelevant question, about one stupid ladder but it is there. Maybe this ladder is removable ? It could make sense during the battle.

Abhovi: Maybe you can answer this question. I saw stairs / ladders leading over / on railing to poop deck on several models. I think there´s one similar on the Wiliam Rex model ( I know you know it very well ) And, there are no stairs to the poop deck on the Zeven Provincien models.

There are no ladders / stairs on the model of Sophia Amalia in the museum - and there´s no other entries.

Hi Jan!

Great modelling skills and nice to see you doing such a wonderful ship!

Good question you are asking. It will be interesting to see the answers.

Very inspiring and I am looking forward to seeing more!
