Lemsterkerk 1:250 By JSC

Just completed another great JSC model, the Lemsterkerk general cargo/liberty ship. I intended to build straight from the book but I thought the model looked a little bit flat on the book images (no disrespect to JSC) so I decided to try a bit of weathering using water colur pencils and pastels. The alignment of the hull sections is excelent which allowed me to open up the freeing ports which helped with the overall look and I also added some blocks to enhance the cranes etc.

This is what an old cargo ship should look like. Well done Tim.

Looks like your improvisation with the weathering is a success.
Also, the rigging work is excellent.

Thanks, Hans, Mike, Tim & Bluenose.
Bluenose, just viewd your build log, very impresive. I'm not quite at that level yet but paper modelling is getting more adictive so hopefully I can there.

You did a superb job on this model. The rigging looks perfect and your weathering was done with a deft touch.

I do love the look of the pre-modular break-bulk cargo ships!
