Le Neptune, 1638, 1/600 [abc models]

Hello paperlovers fellows,

Let me show you my last build: this is the Neptune, a French 16 cannon frigate. She was the first royal vessel of the famous French sailor Chevalier Paul (Squire Paul), and he participated onboard this particular boat at the Gettaria battle against Spain in 1638, one of our first naval victories. This battle occured in the Thirty Years war (1618-1648), which was transforming into the French-Spanish war (1635-1659).

As far as I know, there is no drawing or plan of this boat, so my model is basically a venitian galeon, broadcasted long ago as a bottle model by the czech designer ABC models. So this is only a rough representation of what the Neptune could have been.

Fine looking vessel. Interesting history lesson too.
