Thanks very much, Everybody!

I worked on the initial conning tower with a couple of doors and even some port holes. Looks ok. Can't wait to start adding all the railings and various sticky-outy bits on top.

More soon...Dan

Started some details of the conning tower. The tiny, itsy-bitsy little spoked handle is so neat. It came with the laser cut parts. Love it.

Only issue is that after I put it all together, I realized that my hinges are on the wrong side. Oh well...nobody will be the wiser (except for us!). You can also see the blueish port holes on the sides. They are worth it and add a lot (I think) vs. the painted on depth examples in the "simpler" kit part.

A couple o' extra pieces on the top. Little details sure make this thing look neat. Just needs a bit of paint touch up and it'll be golden.

Got one gun and mount done. I put a sailor nearby for scale. Then he went overboard on the last shot. We'll fish him out later...

Last for the evening...got the second machine gun and mount on as well as some rear conning tower vents and some other tower details. Again, these thin, thin pieces came from the laser parts and are worth it. I think they also sell resin or metal guns for this which could be a useful improvement but I enjoyed the challenge and the guns look fine to me.

Really close now. I need to add the top railings, a hatch and some rope ties. The torpedo tube openings need to be addressed as well. Then rigging, a flag, some detail painting and she'll be ready to look for some targets.
