New Amsterdam.

Marco,

"Je gaat als een speer" as they say in Dutch. You chose the right version. I can see that all the yellow lines on the hull match perfectly. If you have time compare that to the grey version. There is a slight failure in the middle part of the hull. The yellow line does not match on either side. But we decided to leave it as it is. This mistake is too expensive to restore as you can imagine.

I am building the NA for the second time now and a third one has been ordered. They all want the grey waterline version as this matches the tugs.

Do you plan to leave the lifeboats open? If you want to I can forward you with the correct covers. Also the drawings for where to place the railings are not correct. I do hope you have spare railings. You might need them.

But that's all part of the devellopment of a new model.

There have bin a lot of updates. I have all the updates in my computer and I have no problem to share them with someone else. I could sent you all the updates that apply to the black hull version.

We also tried to keep the text as clear as possible. Sometimes it is easier to read the English explanation. The Dutch version gave us a lot of headaches.

Have said all this, and knowing that you are a very experienced builder, I know that all my remarks will not panic you.

All the best with our elegant lady. She deserves that 100%. I will of course follow your progress very carefully.

kind regards Hans.

I've not encountered any issues that I couldn't work around. Actually, I was impressed how much more advanced this model is compared to the early days of the MS Oranje and Johan van Oldenbarnevelt.

I will complete the model with open lifeboats, I like the detail it adds.

Finished!

Thanks! And she's finished. I've not taken as many build photos as usual, but I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.
