My Titanic effort? ship nbr 3
well i'm really into boats/ships at the moment so all other builds are on hold
started on Ralph Currell's Titanic and so far all is well exept i broke off my last blade for my cutting knife cut out the center "spine" and glued it together leaving the fold out parts glueless then i cut out the hull formers and glued them to cardboard from a cerealbox, but during the process of cutting the individual parts i broke off the last blade (it is a surgical knife) so i had to resort to my backup - a cutting knife with a little bit thicker blade but turned out to function well on the cardboard question for all you experienced modelers - should i print out a throwaway copy of the display bottom to tack the model to while working or should i go straight for the good printout of the display and work directly on it? will post some pics of the progress on this one after i'm done cutting out the skeleton of the ship and decided (with your suggestions) if to put it on the real display or the throwaway/working display /Håkan

If you are in the learning process, by all means make a copy. I still scan my originals just in case. There are some who will go straight to the originals, but I tend to be safe than sorry later on.

Hope you get as much enjoyment with the model as i did... you might like to see what can be done with the model up-graded. The link is to one i made a while ago... Enjoy, bye the way... the base is worth doing too, really finishes the build off nicely. Have fun

question if I may to peter taft...how did you upscale that model from 9 inches to 35? Did you take it to a professional printer, or did you do it yourself? Thanks!

As long as we are talking Titanics
here is a model I will be releasing soon it is 1/144 bow section In the comparison shot mine is the one on the left. just a little bit of tweaking of colors and a couple more parts to go. Matt Sparks |

Thanks for your reply peter, I understand how you did it! I think I might upscale it to 1:300 scale myself and give it a go!

Hi Peter, what kind of printer are you using?, i got the HP CP1215 color laser printer and there seems to be an option to upscale, but i have not been able to figure out how make it print over several pages (might have to resort to RTFM on this)
