SMS Lutzow

Been a long time since I built something.
This one's been in the pile for quite some time and will make a fitting adversary/counterpart to my HMS Iron Duke at 1/200.
I am going to fill in the large voids with balsa so that the hull keeps a good shape under the card (no caving in). This will add a lot of extra work but will ensure that it stays smooth below the waterline.

Excellent start. Nice to see another using balsa to fill and smooth their hulls. Built this magnificent model years ago. Lutzow was the periods best looking ship by far.

Not exactly moving at break-neck speed. Small update.
This is my second big paper ship and first time using the balsa. So far it seems like a good choice and a good idea. I think I'll add it above the waterline and maybe even the deck too.
The ship is a real looker and part of the reason I was drawn to it.

So that's enough sub structure for the hull. Now to move onto cladding it with the actual parts.
