Meanwhile on the shipyard, the constructors are still busy preparing her for battle, masts have been installed now. Mind you that the aft mast has warped a bit, but in reality is not as bad as on the pictures.
The main vertical parts of the masts are resin printed, since I did not succeed in rolling the parts. As you can see on the last picture installment of the railings have also started, this time I chose not to try to 3D print them, but rather print them with a regular laser printer on something the younger generation may not know anymore : overhead slides. Yes, at my work I found an old stash of overhead slides that will never ever be used for work, since we all have smartboards (indeed even beamers are obsolete now). To be continued...

Fine work Dan.
The railings look precise and beautiful. When you get some time, may I ask some questions. What are: “overhead slides”, “smartboards”, and finally “beamers”? Thanks, Mike Last edited by Michael Mash; 05-19-2024 at 05:36 AM. Reason: Spelling Correction |

To be honest, I don't even know if you can still buy those, I mean they are so previous century technology. This used to be the machine they were intented to be used on, the overhead projector, so "80's in the previous century : All this has been replaced by the beamer however, no need for slides anymore, you connect it directly with or without cable to either your smartphone or your computer and everybody can see the projection on the wall... Ofcourse when your boardroom isn't that huge, it might be better to use a smartboard, which is a board you can write on with whiteboard markers, but that also functions as a touchscreen. I'm a bit surprised that people in other countries may not have been aware of this already fading technology though. Hoping to to have been of help...

Excellent. Thanks Dan for the images and the explanation.
Looks like the "old" technology gave you lovely results. |
