Bruno Van Hecke’s Ships
Hello, in the papercraft field everyone associates Bruno Van Hecke/ Scissors and Planes with aircraft models. Nevertheless, he has done a few designs of ships like the fleet tug USS Navajo. I enlarged it from 1/1250 to 1/400 and built it straight from the paper. If you want a more detailed model of this ship, get the one from Gerry from Ecardmodels, also in 1/400. Later, I will add just a few details like the main mast, flagstaffs, guns, and some touches of paint. I just wanted to showcase this creation by Master Bruno. After the war, the Cherokee class (originally known as the Navajo class) served in many navies including those of: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Pakistan, Peru, Republic of China, Turkey, and of course the United States Coast Guard.

Yes indeed! Bruno's Scissors and Planes models covers and has models for all tastes. It's a shame that for now he doesn't sells directly his models because the entire spaceship, armored vehicles, cars, sci-fi, etc they will never be on Ecardmodels because of time for upload this kits. Waiting for your complete build. Very nice done Pablo!!!

Thank you Tony for stopping by.
Continuing with Bruno’s USS Navajo, I made simple additions: armament from the Digital Navy Admirable, masts of wire and toothpicks, flags, and few paint retouches. A few licenses regarding the armament and boom position. I hope you let me know if you like it. |

U-Boat Type VIIC by Bruno
Quick and dirty build of the U-Boat Type VIIC by Bruno in need of some railing. Originally in 1/500 enlarged to 1/400.

Great build! So the ship models that bruno has done are only available through him ? Is there a catalog of the ships he's done?

Although it is not the last list of his models, here you can see the naval material that Bruno has designed.

Something that can also be highlighted is that Bruno makes rockets, for example the Saturn V and I also saw that he made the space shuttle.

Fletcher Class destroyer USS Johnston, DD-557
Thank you Vidious, Tony and Juan Angel for stopping by I really appreciate it.
Another lesser-known Buno’s model, the Fletcher Class destroyer USS Johnston, DD-557. It was part of the epic battle of Samar, where destroyers and destroyer escorts engaged battle ships, heavy cruisers, and large destroyers from the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Fletcher Class ships had long careers after the war with navies from Europe, Asia and Latin-America. Regarding Bruno’s model, it was originally in 1/1250 enlarged to 1/400. The hull and stack caps needed some adjustment, but nothing to worry about. It took me some time to understand the construction of the upper decks and weapon stations, but I am happy with the model, build as is. I only added a toothpick mast and pin guns. Soon I will add secondary armament and radars. |

I have his Bagley-class destroyers (rescaled by Gerry) to do. Are they on your build list as well?
The plastic sheet for the water is very effective, by the way.

Buno’s USS Johnston, DD-557 updated
Thank you Siwi for stopping by. I believe that Gerry’s Bagley is a rescaled model by Waynemac in the Downloads, although Bruno has one in 1/1250 that I have not seen.
Buno’s USS Johnston, DD-557 updated, I added secondary armament, radar, gun director, and search lights. The 20 mm I borrowed from the Digital Navy, and the 40 mm and Search lights from Gerry, the radar and gun director were scratched. Everything scaled to 1/400. |
