Hi; modelperry

Look's like a pretty demanding and impressive build. Considering the size, it would be a good idea to put the model on a building board to avoid curling when you get into upper deck work. It would be frustrating to see all that work try to turn itself onto a banana after a few months. Hope this helps.

Regards, rjccjr

Oh that. Yeah, I could but I'm not. It already has a slight bow like an unloaded flatbed truck trailer. Adding the upper levels has actually flattened it out. The fit issues I have had are NOT due to the slight bow.

But thanks for the tip, anyway as I'm sure it will come in handy for someone reading through this thread.

For what its worth, the troop transport version I did just like this one and it's flat.

Greg

Sorry, forgot to answer your question. Yes, I have built quite a few ships but tend to wuss out on the railings and rigging parts at the end. I rarely attempt any sort of sailing ship because of the rigging. I think I've done a few build threads here in the forum. I tend to be much better at starting a ship model than actually finishing one though, there are quite a few sitting around my hobby area awaiting attention.

The railings and rigging are things I don’t want to do, which are two reasons I avoid ships. I don’t much care for airplane rigging either, though at least I understand it. Reminds me of an airplane (full size) that I was assembling and rigging, that had been disassembled by someone else. They had labeled the flying and landing wires in a somewhat mystifying manner. One was labeled “Upper left lower.” I still don’t know what they meant . . . Anyhow, carry on with your ships, and I’ll sit here and watch. They’re fun when someone else builds them.
