Thanks! Also the ship's famous lines are now coming out nicely with the funnels in place.
Here are the forward boats, which are different from the rest of the lifeboats:

Life boat production line. Great sub-assembly work. I too like all those davits. Clean craftsmanship Marco!

Thanks! Here is the lifeboat assembly line. The lifeboat construction seemed a bit odd at first, but looking at photos of the ship the lifeboats are nested.

I had my doubts about the lifeboats, but I'm happy with the way they turned out.

Boats

Oh, those little life boats. So many tiny parts.....

Great collection of ships you got.

I often wondered why they painted those old ocean liners in black all over the hull. I guess, to mask the rust.

My interest in boats is mostly reserved to radio controlled.

here is a picture of my 1890 era American Torpedo boat from the Spanish American war of 1898. USS Cushing TB-1. It is 6.5 ft long ( approx 2 meters ):

Great progress, keep it going. Some exceptionally neat cutting on those lifeboats. With only the rear having any visible opening, I wonder if the front two funnels were dummies?

So wonderful to see the beauty of this great ship come together in this superb JSL kit. You have really done some outstanding craftsmanship.

I actually came across that recently - it's a remnant from the time of coal-fired steamships, which were refueled using coal barges, which could leave a light coloured hull rather dirty.

It was actually the rear funnel that was a dummy, and used for air conditioning equipment. The attached picture shows it a bit better.
If her running mate SS Bretagne would have been built, it would have sported 2 funnels (a bit like RMS Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth)
