"Harald Jarl" Norwegian Coastal Line, 1/250, Wilhelmshavener
Hi again!
In my fleet of norwegian coastal line ships, next up is a older generation ship. "Harald Jarl". Jarl mean Earl in english. It was built in the city I'm from, Trondheim at Trondheim Mekaniske Verksted. Delivered June 1960 Dimensions: Loa/B/D 286,8/43,6/15,1 (feet) Operational in the Hurtigruten fleet until 2001. Sold to Elegant Cruise Line Ltd, and refurbished and renamed "Andrea". This was a notorously difficult model to build. The fit of parts was really bad, and there was several errors in the design. The biggest flaw was that the frames at the forward end of the hull was all wrong. I reworked the front a bit. The decks at the back are not correct either. But all in all I think the model will represent the ship in a pretty good way. As always with me, the model isn't done I tend to start other projects before I'm done with the onesI've already started... |

The model as it is today, rigging, railings, lifeboats and other minor details are still missing.
And a couple of pics of the ship along with the new generation of Hurtigruten ships. Some difference in the size |

Those are both lovely builds. Is the larger ship a Wilhelmshavener model also?

Thanks!
Both are Wilhelmshavener. The larger one was the easiest to build, with good fit of parts. |

I'll post more pics later, I'm adding lifeboats and stuff this weekend.
I have couple more Wilhelmshaven models in my stock; "Solingen" a freight ship, and "Admiral Hipper/Blücher". |
