U-2536 1:200 Kartonowy Arsenał

Witam

German Type XXI submarine also known as "Elektroboote", were the first submarines designed to operate entirely submerged, rather than as surface ships that could submerge as a temporary means to escape detection or launch an attack.

For those interested in

YouTube - William Bauer, Donitz's Steath Submarine

YouTube - Type XXI Elektroboat U-Boat Wunderwaffe "Wonder Weapon"

My goal is to have fun during the construction, improvement techniques, and sticking as closely as possible to build a replica of a real unit.

The only known me a picture of U-2536.

I begin to build a sail

It may seem that the color of the sail does not fit into the hull, but it is an old model, which I'm not finished. The paper was old and change color. So I build from the beginning a new model.

I would be grateful for all kinds of comments on the built model.

I'll try not to disappoint you.

I decided that I will build small parts and then bigger.

At the end of the war the Germans were running out of precious metals and brass and copper were getting really scarce. Apparently the Germans started to use iron for the propellers. Can somebody confirm this?

Cześć!

A very precise and clean build. Quite beautiful! Looking forward to see the ongoing progress. Very nice so far!

What kind of paint did you use for the props?

Pozdrowienia z Helsinki! (Greetings from Helsinki)

Rgds,
Radek

This color is pure coincidence.
I'm trying to paint the propellers in this way:
ORP Grom 1:200

I think the gold paint is a little too old

Szczęście w nieszczęściu wyszło tak, jakby Niemcy faktycznie mieli problemy z dostawami miedzi. (In my opinion the props look as if Germans indeed had a problem with supplies of copper. )
Pozdrawiam Rodaka, niezłe okręty budujesz. Podziwiam

I finished the construction of the skeleton. The whole prepared for grinding.

For relaxation, a little riddle for you. In the attachments are a few photos. Who knows what is near U-Boat?

Cześć

To get the effect like the image at the top I had:
- to paint the deck

- to glue the parts of the skeleton

the hardest was the stern (paint I use fit very well)

reins can move

Again, I glue the new conning tower

I think that's all. Holidays is coming so Happy Christmas to all
