Thanks D-H and Don.

I have thought about an Atlantic ship set which would of course include "HMS" Richelieu as the RN seamen described her she spent a long time on the convoys.

Tonight a high angle 4" twingun enclosure minus the canvas weather shields and the HUff Duff tower.

Hello Barry,
Nicely detailed tower (just behind the gun turret). You did some fine cutting with a steady hand.

Wotcher, bazzer!

She's coming together very nicely...making extremely quick headway, but that's in keeping with this sea stallion.

Once again, your design skills and rapid progress astound me!

Cheers!
Jim

Thanks for the kind words Don, Mike and Jim

The bridge wind breakers something I am not good at can't see the damn things. The impression is there and I have figured out a better cutting pattern. I shall divide the outer rim into sections to get a right angle into the corner edges.

That bridge construction is tricky, but it certainly does look fine. As I've said before, these were particularly attractive ships in every respect. You are capturing the look very effectively.

The camouflage scheme is one that seems particularly good looking. Is it what was called "Admiralty Disruptive"?

Hello Barry,

the windbreakers are very tricky; but - if you haven't you could forget to operate on an open bridge. Sprinkling water and the steam will blast you away ... :D

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

The windbreakers (and the rest of the ship) looks great to me!

I gather the "windbreakers" are the structures along the outside forward edge of the bridge wings, which are sometimes referred to as "wind deflectors", is that correct? If so, on merchant ships they are closer to the forward bulkhead at the bottom than at the top, sort of an airfoil shape that "deflects" the wind from blowing right over the top of the wing area, providing some natural protection to the crew. As Wilfried mentions, if you don't have them it's almost impossible to operate in the open areas while underway, let alone in rougher weather conditions. Take a look at the third picture from the top on this build thread:

Love those little details, bazzer, they really do add to the character of this little lady!

Cheers!
Jim

Shafts

The shafts went reasonably well but then I dropped her and in catching her I sprang the plates, hopefully I can fix it. Started on the AA guns and depth charges. I also found I will have to modify the the bridge structure sort of makes up my mind to fix the deflectors if possible.
