Your build is doing the beautiful lines of this ship justice. As I endeavor to build the Digital Navy kit of her I hope my skill allows her to come out as good as your build of this kit.

This kit packs a lot of detail, particularly on those funnels. And I enjoy some of the angles in your picutures.

Thanks:-) I'm building it since October 2009. It's a lot of work especially with redesigning parts. I'm still learning to do it. In fact, this is the second big ship I'm building. The first was IJN Tone from Fly Model.

Hi,
The assembling of the "Takao" model has slowed down recently because I have to work on my MA paper which I'm going to defend in September or October this year. So I don't have time to build:-( But I managed to finish the crane and two catapults. However, in the second photo there is still one catapult because the photo is outdated a bit. Enjoy:-) Jake |

Most impressive craftsmanship on one of my favorite modeling subjects, IJN Warships. You certainly have raised the level of this one by several factors.

I used a very sharp knife to cut the holes. It was a difficult task because this kit is not adjusted to modifications like new Halinski models.
I love IJN Warships too. Especially old models because I like redesigning and rebuilding things. Firstly, I'm doing it in Photoshop (If I have the model in JPG or PDF format). Secondly, I'm doing it manually during the assembling process. I have almost all kits of IJN Warships in JPG or PDF. But still I'm looking for those which I don't have. Mostly, I'm buying new kits but old ones (which are hard to find) I'm trying to download from the net (after the Photoshop therapy they look much newer and modern). |
