And another update with a better camera this time [yes!]

The MG platforms were of a great fit, the only thing not satisfactory is that the lengths of the support columns are not long enough and had to be scratch-made. I have no idea why this happens though, maybe they forgot the deck camber...

One more thing:
The forward platform's side pieces contain a mistake, the L and R pieces are reversed and that they also build to the wrong direction. Do not glue anything down without testfitting first...

Hi Lex,

Looking grand, glad to hear you are overcoming the camber problems. It gave me fits when I was attempting to build the Akizuki from Answer models.

I agree, it's a headache every time when something needs to be attached onto the deck......

Hello Lex,
Your Fuyuzuki is looking very nice. And your better camera is giving us some great images to look at.

Sorry for the watermark... PM.com album still broken for me

Tiny update, been sometime since the last one, mostly owing to a trip to mainland Europe. Small deck details are mostly complete, made a start on the main mast and completed the crane for loading torpedoes.

The small parts mostly fit very well, the crane had a slight misfit but nothing unmanageable - was a pleasure to build actually. The bigger problem was the main mast - I could not rely on the 1:1 scale template! The drawing did NOT fit what's actually being constructed already. I have expected fit problems anywhere but here, and so I had no option but to paint the entire mast......:o Again to caution future builds on Modelik naval subjects! Half of it might be my own skills but other half is the design itself

This would probably be the last update before I disappear from the forums anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. And given the current sino-japan tensions, postponing this build should be a wise choice anyway... :D

Looks great, Lex! Sorry to hear you will be away for such a long time. Look foward to hearing from you again in the future. Keep clear of the Senkaku and/or Daioyu islands!
