Here's my only tutorial. Get a thin piece of carbon fiber rod. It is used for kites, electric R/C models, etc. I get mine from a local hobby shop, but even cheap discount stores like Walmart might have kite kits with carbon fiber rods. The thinner the rod the better. Cut the end off of the rod about 1 or 2 inches in length. I use a straight razor blade and roll the rod while pressing down with the blade to slice through it. Then just take the razor blade and start slicing into the top of the rod lengthwise. You will find that once started it shaves off easily into a thin filament.

Be careful with your left overs, I don't think the body can absorb a splinter of carbon rod. It will just stay in your body annoying you until it's dug out.
