Thank you RdK and Clashster !

The "golden carving" are mostly laser-engraved details from GMP. But not all required (from my point of view) elements are in this set and I have to make it myself in following way
  • print detail on the 0.3mm paper
  • soak it with Cyanoacrylate ("super glue")
  • scratch black regions with needle
  • grind it a little bit with 600 abrasive paper

That new my update parrot and handmade "golden carving" decorations around it at the stern.

Hello Lexus,
It certainly does look authentic. Each individual plank seems to stand out.
Very nice.

Thank you Michael.
The planking is not most difficult thing that makes this vessel so realistic.

Thats my new batch of photos. Many things were added:
  • ladders
  • belaying pins
  • cleats
  • pumps
  • capstan
  • stern and stem figures

One has to admire the artistic sweep and shape of the old ship hulls, shown very clearly in these spendid images. More beautful work Lexus.

Hello Lexus,

That is one of the best hulls that I have seen. Far superior to what I am able to do. But I am learning from your techniques. Getting close to the fun part--Rigging.

Respectfully,
Dennis

Thank you very much barry ,Michael, Hambone and RdK.

The progress is not as large as I want, but nevertheless
  • Gun's barrel were repainted into brass with oxide spots
  • Marses and lower pats of mast
  • The smallest 2 types of blocks blocks were made from wood
  • 2 types of deadeyes were made from plastic

I have wrote script to create details from rolls of different shapes.
You can down load it here.

To launch it it is required Java SE JRE(You can download it if any here).

The Inkscape also it is required (to create shape) (download it here)
  • For example you need to create following detail (The part was removed to show the section)
  • Create section shape in the Inkscape and save it in SVG format. It is required to create shape of proper size, because sizes of detail will
    be from this shape.

  • Launch app.exe and start script "Unroll Body Of Revolution"

  • Open created SVG file via "Browse" button.

  • In the list of shapes check the shape to process.
  • Inner R(Rin) This is :

  • "Thickness" - this is a thickness of paper
  • Press "Unroll button"
  • When shape will be completed message dialog will appear

  • The result will be in the same folder as the original one. And i.e. you have test.svg as the source the targte file will be test_unrolled.svg

The test barrel created with this script (from tracing paper - the thinnest paper I have):
