Very early fifties, and that makes it even harder to comprehend. Many of us here are older…

So how do we best honor him on this website? Maybe rename picture of the month Rick Steffers' Picture of the Month? Any other ideas?

When Rick moved to Brenham, Texas for that short time, I had mentioned about meeting up at some point as I usually have work out there. I missed that small meet up of Ray and Rick at the GI museum, wish I could have made it. So much that has already been said and posted I'm sure everyone who's interacted with Rick in one way or another can agree he was a steadfast pillar to this hobby and did so much with the forum and facebook page. Getting that email from Ray was a gut punch for sure. Rick is not too many years older than me.
My condolences to his family. He will be missed. |

Some years ago, I wrote some words to a song called "Score and Fold and Glue" for possible use at one of the IPMC awards dinners. Don Boose and his cohorts recited it once as a poem (Rick may have been one of them -- I forget), but it was meant to be sung to the tune of "The Gallant Forty-Twa." The final verse read:
Now, we’re all getting older, and it won’t be long before We’ll find ourselves a-walking through the great big pearly door But when St. Peter shakes your hand, I hope he’ll say to you “Right over there’s your cutting mat – go score and fold and glue!” RIP, Rick. |

Thank You
I have been reprimanded several times for being too extreme in a forum by him but I took it well so as not to repeat it again Rest In Peace
