Attached pictures are missing/not showing up

Folks,

We are aware of this issue, and are working on trying to fix the problem.

As some of you might have seen, we had a database error early today.
We have gotten that fixed, and now it seems that fix caused the attached pictures to disappear.

Pictures linked from external sites like Photobucket and others still show up.

We do ask for some understanding and patience as we are working to fix this.

Rick

the attached pictures are not handled that way

the pictures are actually uploaded to our database, and that is how they reside.

we do not deal with members computers

I see the photos are missing from my most recent thread (1/72 Miles M.20), and I use photobucket, so the problem apparently extends to external sites too.

^^ That's strange - pics on Photobucket in my threads and in Bomarc's thread are all showing up fine. Did you attach them to the posts from your Photobucket account (thereby transferring hosting to here) or did you link to them using the [img] tags?

That is strange. I used the "manage attachments" option in that post, so I linked directly to my Photobucket album. I only use [img] when I want to attach a full sized picture to the thread - I have an [img] picture on page 2 of the thread which still appears - the external link photos are gone.

I think the Manage Attachments external link option downloads the image from the website you specify into the database (instead of uploading from your computer) but both result in the image being attached to PM.com's database. Images directly linked to other hosting sites would not be affected. So it seems like those images you're missing are in the same bucket (not photobucket ) as the rest.
