Hallo,
For anyone who is interested to master Blender I can firmly advise a solid over 1200 pages and 3600 pictures manual on Wirtualne Lotnictwo for free!!! Unfortunately it is in Polish but with a help of Internet dictionaries you can get idea of the art of Blender, I hope. Nevertheless the pictures are almost self-explanatory indeed. Together with a dictionary you can solve a problem of unfolding your model. There is a huge description of the procedure. Try it. Marko66 |

For anyone starting out in 3D CAD I cannot recommend Trimble SketchUp highly enough!
Totally intuitive and great for anything, from vehicles to buildings and beyond. There are plenty of articles on the website too, plus many forums out there offering tutorials and support. There's also a 3D Warehouse site where you can download thousands of models designed by amateur enthusiasts as well as professional 3D designers. There are a couple of unfolding add-ons out there, too. I'll see if I can dig out the links and post them here later...

I'm using Wings3D, relative short learning curve and it supports many of the main format for import/export.
