Printing a large file to PDF
Good morning fellow papermodelers.
The last couple of days I have been working on a backdrop image for my large Titanic papermodel (see below) I have created this image in Coreldraw X4. The image is now at it is correct size, being 146.5 cm's long and 58.6 cm's high. Now the printshop would like to receive the file in PDF format. So I installed a PDF Creator, but everytime when I print my file in PDF creator. I get only a part of the image, on A4 size. What can I do, to create a PDF file at mentioned sizes and containing the entire image? With regards, Jerry

What is your page size set to in Corel? It should be the same size as the image.
If the software is freeware, it could be limited as to maximum size. |

The page size in Corel is indeed the same size.
The PDF creator is indeed freeware. Perhaps another solution?

I think you can save your files from Coreldraw directly in PDF format. PDF export works just like a printer emulator.
Anyway take a look on that link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1uvTlRTg6w7. jun 2010 - 5 min. - How to correctly save a PDF file for print out of CorelDRAW keeping vector ... How To Create a Visiting ... |

Here is a program where you can take a large graphic and split it up into multiple pages that can be printed and assembled into the large graphic. The output is a multipage pdf. I have used it to print out a large map graphic.
PosteRazor - Make your own poster! Here is a program that allows you to take a graphic and turn it into a large poster, split across many pages that can be assembled into the poster. If the original graphic is small and you choose to enlarge it a lot, the resulting print out will look very pixellated up close, but far away it will look OK, depending on the amount of enlargement and viewing distance. Block Posters - Create large wall posters from any image for free!

When you publish your Corel work to PDF,
you can surround and select the objects that you wish to publish on the page or else only what is on your layout boundary will print to the PDF page. To avoid this you can change your page layout to the final page size you expect and keep everything within the boundaries of that page. when converting your Corel file to PDF, are you using the "publish to PDF" option within Corel? Click "File" and look down near the bottom for "Publish to PDF". If you PDF creator is properly integrated it will be there and you will publish directly from Corel to PDF. The PDF should then print to the size you desire if you followed the first steps I illustrated.

When you print a graphic that is larger than your paper size your printer will only print the part of the graphic that will fit on the paper size you are using unless you change your printer dialogue settings to Fit To Page or whatever equivalent command you printer software has. The graphic will then be reduced in size to fit the paper size selected in the printer dialogue.
PosterRazor will split the graphic into as many pages as needed to be able to print the entire graphic. The numer of pages in the final PDF will differ depending on the paper size selected (don't choose anything bigger than the maximum paper size your printer can handle), and whether you choose Portrait or Landscape orientation. You can have the pages overlap a bit to help in joining the separate pages into the larger end product, or you can have no overlap. The large format maps I have processed with the program have all turned out good.

I a bit confused as to why you're even using an external utility to save as a PDF. I've got an older version of CorelDraw than you, but it exports as PDFs quite well on it's on.

Thanks for all the comments, sometimes the answer can be very simple.
I followed the steps as suggested by Marcaurelio and Airdave. And I got my file published as PDF. I didn't get it to work, because I was trying to export the file to PDF. But since there was no possibility to do so. I had installed a PDF creator. Paper Hollywood, That's the way I had designed and converted my A4 size papermodels to PDF.Up until now I did not know about getting my file published as PDF. There was no need to go beyond the limitations of A4 size before. Thanks for the help! Jerry
