Just want you and others hardcore 2D's understand that you are just complicating stuff for yourself and missing just several 3D tuts. And if you don't get smth, so you must be stooped rather then go a bit further in learning. And that's all.
Stupid? Is it really necessary to get personally offense over this? How old are you, anyway?

I'm done here.

Enuff already.

In order to make a 3D cone with a brick texture that doesn't look like crap you'd have to make the texture exactly the same way as the 2D way and then spend more time mapping it onto the 3D. 3D would help you slice the 2D patern up for making the texture, but that's about it.

As someone who started in 2D (paint shop pro), counting pixels and using trig, I'd like to point out it that 3D is just as time consuming as 2D, you use the same methods in both, it's just a different way of getting to the end result.
As already stated, not many can go from a blank screen to a printed sheet with 3D, it's mostly stolen content precisely because textured 3D is SO time consuming, not to mention the software costs.

I think closing this for a few days will do some good, people. When cooler heads prevail, we'll try this again. Count to ten and think before you respond.
