However, I can't say which problems, if any, are caused by PDFCreator's export to PDF, and which by Inkscape's PDF import.
That's just how the printing output is structured by Pepakura, or perhaps all of its vector outputs - they were pretty useless for editing last time I tried some. Point 2 and 3 applied to all of them (1 doesn't, because they don't export the texture in first place). Having hundreds and thousands of small objects instead of a couple of parts also makes Inkscape kneel.

However, the pdo tool exports all lines as solid lines disregarding the line style entirely, which is not ideal either.

Nando: I tried some painful methods myself :D

New version is out: PDO tools
Added:
  • SVG: texture export. No texture filtering currently. Textures are stored in separate layer group.
  • SVG: part outline export. Outlines are stored in separate layer group.
  • SVG: initial Text export support. Multiline texts and font sizes aren't handled properly
  • SVG: image export.
  • new icon
Texture filtering (smoothing) will be enabled in the next version, there are some accuracy issues with texture mapping I need to fix first. Also, sometimes the texture is applied to a section of a part where Pepakura viewer shows no texture; it's probably related to some field in the PDO file which I haven't figured out yet.

Thanks Imcold for your hard work.
I immediately tested the new version you released and I have some problem, may be I did some mistake using it.

I try to explain how i proceeded.

1) First I did a simple file with Sketchup using the only three texture I can use with: material, projected and on cilindric surface

2) Then I exported the 3D model in Pepakura

3) Next I used Your Pdo Tool r104 using the PDO file to generate the SVG file, but when I opened it into Inkscape I had problems with all three types of textures: materials, projected and cilindrical surfaces.

Just to verify whether is it something wrong in the PDO file, I generated the PDF file using the virtual 995 printer and into Inkscape all was ok with the texture in the same way it usually do.

If it's useful, I can send to you the source files of this test (they are too big for the attachment) . PM to me your email address.

Best, Nando

Thanks for testing! Sure, I'm interested in samples that don't work; my sample library is small. I will PM you my email.

The issue is that the exporter's texture renderer doesn't handle repeated textures (texture wrapping). Since I haven't had any PDOs with repeating textures, I didn't really bother with it, but it's relatively easy to fix.
The black triangles on the bottom just show an untextured area; I guess white would be less confusing.
I'll prepare a new version soon. Thanks for the report!

Thanks Imcold.
I'd like to underline another issue: on the cilindrical developed surface the texture is exported reversed upside down.
