Got Office 2000 to work..........

It's still not Windows, in that I have yet to figure out how to add folders and shortcut to the programs. I tried copying the Photoshop.exe to the desktop but it would not start.

So I still have to drill down through all the folders to get WINE to run the exe file, but it works.........well Photoshop CS2 and MS Office 2000...........

Illustrator CS2 is a no go, but I've got Inkscape installed so it's no big deal for me. I like PS better then GIMP so that go too.

Hi John,

Tried to download the Zorin OS 8 32 bit last night. When I got up this morning it said it was interrupted, I hit the resume button and it never did. A total of 170mb downloaded but no joy to get it going again.

Will check out the links you provided to see if it will be worth another try.

Mike

I'm not going to download Zorin at this time...I don't really have a need for it.
But I know where it is in case I do.

Just checked the download...32bit file started downloading at just under 2mbs...it should increase.
Thats about average for me on most sites, although I can get d/l speeds up to 4mbs.
My point, at 8.35am here, the d/l works fine.

Mike I would suggest trying an alternate time for a better d/l,
...maybe in the morning?
Your evening is 2,3, 4 hours earlier than mine, which puts it into peak hours.
Other than that, its probably your Internet connection.

I notice on Zorin's download page, that they claim Chrome and Firefox are the
only advised browsers for downloading?
Zorin OS - Free
I see they also have a cheap Disc option.

You can often download programs from a variety of software sites.
I generally recommend looking for a direct download from the manufacturer.
This avoids scams and fake sites, as well as bundled packages*.
*programs with other smaller programs attached that install at the same time.
You will generally get the best download speed direct from the manufacturer
but thats not always the case. But I find the software share sites can be even slower.

Dave......... it also comes with Midori as a web browser option to install. I installed it to play with also.

I removed Chrome......... and installed Firefox instead.

I also read that with WINE you could download and run Pale Moon. I haven't tried that yet, but it will happen.
