Unhappy Canon PDF cannot be opened with all PDF veiwers.

I downloaded the model and instruction PDFs of the Canon Creative Park Wyvern (https://creativepark.canon/en/conten...587/index.html).
I opened the files using Windows 10 native PDF viewer Microsoft Edge. The instruction PDF appeared to be rendered normally.
However, the model file opened with several areas on several pages where the green body and wing background color was not rendered, these areas came out white. This was a consistent problem which recurred even after I downloaded the files a second and third time.
Sumatra also had the same problem when I used it to open the model PDF.
Inkscape could not open the PDF correctly.
The file opened correctly with PDF XChange Editor, PDF Xchange Editor, and Foxit Reader. I did not try to print the file with these programs.
The Wyvern PDF opened and printed correctly with Adobe Acrobat Viewer.
It seems that all PDF Viewers are not created equal and that some PDF files have problematic features.

They all open in Gimp, but take a long time to open. 2 to 3 seconds

John,

I used Windows 10 and Internet explorer and had no problems with the material.
All downloaded fine.

On Linux, the file looks fine in Okular 1.6.2, Evince 3.32.0 and Gimp 2.10.10.
In Inkscape 0.92.4, the wing indeed appears white: Canon PDF cannot be opened with all PDF veiwers.-screenshot_20190131_221306.jpg
It's a pity, all Canon PDFs which I have ever edited have mostly vector features better edited on Inkscape than with Gimp.

Well, PDF is a complex standard with several independent implementations. Even Adobe's, which should be the golden standard, trips on some documents. And the wyvern file seems to include large textures (19 MB in only 6 pages) with a lot of masking. In Okular, features look sharp even at 1000%.

Other people have reported problems with Edge. and PDF

https://developer.microsoft.com/en-u...sues/18158018/
It is interesting that Edge, Inkscape and Sumatra have same problems opening the Canon PDF, I wonder if they share some code?
