FGMM Convair Sea Dart

Just to get it on record, I intend to build a stock version of FG's Convair Sea Dart model. I'll be building it in both in flight (skis retracted) and landing (hydroskis down) configurations.

Looking forward to seeing the build. I don't remember exactly what went wrong, but I wasn't able to get it looking right. Probably attaching the wings. I should try it again. It's a nice model.

I agree; great design on the kit but the actual plane had some very sophisticated (for the time) shapes and curves that'll be a pip to translate into paper. I'll probably be building it several times to get to the final contest model!

I think thats going to happen with my Phillips Multiplane too. Sea Dart was on my short list when choosing my FGMM candidate. Very intresting to see you build it.

Thanks Tapcho. I hope to make a good showing, and I look forward to your Phillips Multiplane, too!

And you can still do the Sea Dart- I don't think this contest forbids multiple modelers from entering the same model! Which I think is very cool, and a good call of Rick's part.

Cool! I think this is the first Rob Carleen designed model in the contest.

Looking forward to a great build Wyvern.

Always been fascinated by the Sea Dart ever since I saw footage of a take-off when I was a kid. I look forward to seeing your build!
