Never use the wingspan when trying to calculate scales with a FG model. Chip has been known to stretch the wings some to fill the page.

Small it is, Tapcho! But a very nice one too.

It's amazing how it seems on the "studio" for the picture.

Yea, all I can say is that my calculator trusts the scale indicator provided on the page. If it isn't accurate, nor will my calculations.

Seems I didn't account for wanting to enter the print percentage to determine what scale you end up with, only the opposite. I guess I figured folks would choose the scale and print at the arbitrary percentage rather than choosing the percentage and ending up with an arbitrary scale. I'll keep it in mind for version 2.0 if there's a demand for it. :D

@ cmags: I wasn't complaining about your calculator or calculations you made. I was bashing myself and my lack of understanding this. I have a new printer and I haven't yet figured out how to set percentage arbitrary so I use only preset values (50, 33,3 25 and 12,5). My problem totally and I appreciate all the help I get from you guys. :o

If wingspan comparison can't be trusted let's go with cmags calculation and the scale of the plane is therefore 1:168. :D

The "Flybaby" is a beauty. I don't understand what was wrong with the windscreen and landing gear.

most times you see the braille-scale compared to a Quarter - you compare it to a Dime! Patience and skill!

Wait till you see the final pics. I promise it's going to be better - or I'm just raving lunatic with details in this case. :-)

I'll agree the plane is small. I can't even think that small.

WOW! That's amazing. I've been doing good just to get down to 1:60!

Beautifully done! I tried the "Waldo Pepper" model from FGs greeting cards once. It's about twice the size of your Fly Baby, but my ham fingers got in the way, even so. You must have the dexterity of a humming bird!
