FGMM Building Stock

I had lots of time Saturday due to a freak snow storm (32 degrees with 35 mph winds out of the north and 4 inches of snow).

I took the time to build one of FG's Light Houses. My wife chose it for me as there were just too many to choose from. She picked the West Quoddy Head. The real one is in Lubec Maine and was built in 1808. According to a couple of tidbits on the kit sheet it was President Thomas Jefferson who gave the order to construct it. And, legend has it the lighthouse is Haunted!

It was a fun build! Very easy. Almost too easy as I went too quick. The only problem I had was joining the workhouse roof with the actual tower...totally my fault. :o But that is the beauty of these kits...print another and start over. :D

Nice work. I just did the Split Rock light a couple of weeks ago. Those light houses are fun and unique.

Sammuel, funny you should mention "It was 75 at my house..." The snow hit Saturday. The day before, Friday, it was 73 and sunny...we were in shorts and T-Shirts. Sunday afternoon it was 54 and all the snow was gone. Crazy weather on the plains!

Thanks for the comments, guys. These truely are enjoyable and historical kits. Me thinks me will look fur more.

Well, I'm from Alaska originally, so I know snow.

But, after this winter I can honestly say...I have had it with snow!

I hope I don't see any snow again for 9 months!!

Hey, 9 months puts us right at Christmas...who doesn't like a White Christmas?
