FGMM - Nieuport 28

Well, I thought I would join the fun with this Nieuport 28 built at regular size. It was a very nice build and as you can see results in a pretty nice model.

It's beautifully done, as always, Douglas, and looks great.

Small point, and certainly no criticism of your excellent craftsmanship, but was the undercarriage really set that far back on the actual N.28? Most of the images I have seen show the u/c directly behind the cowling?

Don

Thanks Don - you are as ever, correct. I knew there was something wrong with it. I thought it was just that the nose was too high/low. For some reason I did not notice that, but that certainly explains the tail to prop angle being off. I'm considering a repair.

Great looking model. Did you score the lines for the fuselage stringers from the backside of the card, or is that just really nice artwork? The rest of the model came out so nice, I'd definitely try to move that landing gear forward to it's proper location. The model would go from an A to an A++. Great job on the rigging too.

Thanks guys - It is a well designed model that went together without any fit problems.

- yes I scored the lines for the fuselage stringers. John Glessner's art work is very good and deserves the credit. You can see this clearly if you look at the access panel covers aft of the engine cowling.

~ off to perform some surgery

Wow! That has got to be one of the sweetest FG builds I've seen
The art quality along with your building skills and rigging really bring out the very best
in a FG model
