You did a great job on the build. I like the clear canopy.

Despite the difficulties of fitting her together, at least the nose art was not effected!

You've done a fine job with this one. I really wish FG would consider an all new version of this kit. This is an early one and there are fit issues; it would be nice to see the P-47 brought up to FG's new standards.

Thanks guys. I already petitioned for a redraw of this kit(unlikely). The P47 D/N is my favorite bird. This is the only kit I have come across so I had to do it.

The canopy - Bob Martin gets credit for his great tutorial on how to do them.

Fit issues - the cowel and engine cover fit well but from the cover back, it's either too small or too big and the panel lines don't match and the wing areas are un-aligned, it gets messy. There's a gap on the belly of this model I had after fitting the fuse together so I covered it with silkspan(leftover from a guillows kit)and coated it a glue/water mix to harden it and penned in the missing panel lines. Can't really tell from a distance and it looks ok but I know it's there and it bothers me. Still, not a bad kit if you have patience....

I agree these have been nice little builds you've been turning out. One recommendation however: with the clear canopies, I suggest covering the white area with the words "Glue Canopy Here" up with a spare piece of black paper or color with marker or such. Better yet, print out an overhead photo of the cockpit interior and glue it in place. Just something to hide the logo.

Other than that, they look great keep up the good work! :D

I'm fighting with this one as I type, I understand what you mean by fit issues, just reprinted a couple fuselage sections. Your build came out beautiful considering these issues.

Thanks much. I fought the fuse for several days. I also feel that the wing would have been better as one unit that slides through the fuse instead of two seperate parts and the fairings should have been seperate parts also. It made it tough getting the wings to align properly. I used some bamboo skewers in the leading edges and holes in the fuse to attach them otherwise, they tend to droop.
